THE ART BASTARD SHOW. DIRECTOR / CO-WRITER

SYNOPSIS. A mockumentary following three clashing Bristol artists and the curator trying to unite them, as they fail to stage the biggest exhibition of their careers.

APPROACH. I directed and co-wrote this mockumentary, shaping the narrative and characters to explore the chaos of artistic collaboration.

The actors, having worked together before, improvised freely and stayed in character throughout, which added authentic, unscripted moments to the story.

Street art Banksy spoof with a mural of a person holding a drink, drawn in black lines on a wall. Two pedestrians with a baby in a stroller walk past, blurring their faces.

WATCH THE TRAILER

The film balances satire with insight, highlighting the eccentricities of the art world while keeping the story engaging and humorous. My role was to guide the flow, ensuring that the improvised interactions supported the overarching narrative.

OUTCOME. Premiering at The London Short Film Festival, the film offered a witty and satirical look at the art world and what happens when artistic sensibilities clash.
